Given her life-long passion for the arts it’s little surprise that Ruth Fernandez found her career calling to be makeup artistry. While working in a salon in Chelsea, the celebrity artist was introduced to her future mentor, Sharon Sinclair, and soon landed a major role assisting on a shoot for MTV. Fernandez was quickly asked back to work on the group’s first video shoot in Los Angeles, which paved the way to her now blossoming career.
Today Fernandez is the go-to for Donald Trump’s hit show “The Celebrity Apprentice.” She has worked on all four seasons and is responsible for the makeup looks of several of the show’s celebrities outside of the reality program. Among the stars Fernandez has worked with are Audrina Patridge, Joan and Melissa Rivers, Ozzy Osborne, Mayor Bloomberg, Holly Robinson Peete, Selita Ebanks, and Marlee Matlin.
The affable makeup aficionado is a favorite of Go Pretty’s private Manhattan-based clientele and also has experience working on editorial shoots. Notably she was responsible for Robert DeNiro's wife Grace Hightower’s look for Prestige Magazine. Further, she has worked on high-profile advertising campaigns including Ray-Ban and Bon Appétit and has been active during New York Fashion Week assisting on countless shows including DKNY, Gilded Age, Donna Karan, and Jill Stuart.
