Hello Go Pretty,

My first official Blog Entry...Yay!

I think that I should win the Go Pretty Beauty Pro Awards because I have a true passion for makeup and the entire beauty industry. Going full time freelance has really given me a new outlook on the industry as a whole and I strongly believe that with the help of the Beauty Pro Award I am ready for all that it has to offer. 

There have been numerous challenges that I have been faced with in my career.  Being limited in monetary resources has been a minor set back, however I do find ways to overcome all obstacles. There have been alot of doors that have opened for me only because I have been willing to do the work.  I love the hustle of being my own boss, but feel that with a little more growth & know how I can be even more of a success. 

Being the winner of this award would mean so much for my career.  Having an interest in Fashion Editorial work as well as Bridal Beauty, I think winning would allow me the opportunity to build my business in those 2 areas.  I would love the opportunity to attend more trade shows, as well as be a vendor at more trade shows in my area.  Winning will help build my marketing campaigns to attract more clients.  Hands on workshops has always been something I have been interested in, but the resources have not always been there to attend. Winning would allow me the opportunity to attend more workshops to perfect my craft. All of these things will allow me to get 10 steps closer to my goal of becoming THE Makeup Artist of choice! 

There are numerous products and resources that I could mention that would most valuable in helping me achieve my career goal, but the one that is at the top of my list is more REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE.  I really enjoy taking classes and learning more about the business, but until you are in the actual thick of it on a consistent basis you never get the true feeling of what its like for the artist that you look up to and admire.  I am aware that the business is not all Glitz & Glamour and will work very hard as I have been, if I am chosen as the winner of this award.
