Pro Makeup Artist Tip of the Day: Choose Brushes That Create a Flawless Airbrushed Look

If you’re a fan of YouTube you know there’s no shortage of makeup demo’s on Sigma brushes. And although I’ve never been one to jump on the bandwagon with the masses, I was immediately sold when I saw their Synthetic Brush line for High Definition. Sigma’s website says this collection features an exclusive Synthetic filament which is specially designed to apply powder and liquid products without absorption into the fibers. The intent is for the brushes to perfectly buff products onto the skin, resulting in high definition.

I ordered this set, my first purchase from Sigma, and was immediately impressed with the packaging. The brushes came in a cute, teal colored drawstring bag, and Sigma even included a pamphlet that outlined how to use the products. I thoroughly washed the brushes and was amazed by the durability and quality because there was no shedding and they didn’t lose their shape. But don’t look to use them in a couple of hours. They are densely packed and drying time took almost all day.

But, I totally understand the hype. The brushes are extremely soft and during application they glide gently across the face. I used less makeup and the finish was, as promised, a flawless airbrushed look. I currently use the F84 angled brush to contour and for bronzer and cream or powder blush; the F82 is a round brush that is ideal for liquid and powder foundation as well as concealer application; so don’t hesitate to use it under your eyes or around your nose. I use the F80 flat brush, which is actually my favorite, for liquid and cream foundation and finishing powder. This brush truly buffs makeup seamlessly.
I recommend you buy the trio for $42 from Sigma’s website, or purchase what you want; they are sold individually at $16. This is my first set of Sigma Brushes and definitely won’t be my last.

Until next time beauties,
Tish

Hi Victoria, thanks for the feedback! This was my first purchase from Sigma and I guess I got lucky and got a good batch..LOL...I'm a brush junkie too. I'm always looking for the one that's going to allow me the best application. Maybe in the future I'll take a look at their powder brush *wink......

thanks again and glad to know you enjoyed my post.

Tish, you seem to post stuff that are of interest to me :).. Brushes!!! I absolutely love them! What can I say I am a brush junkie...LOL...The only problem that I ran into with Sigma brushes is that you win some at times and lose some, meaning the next order might not be like the first. The quality of the brushes are not consistent. So I always say a prayer if ordering from them. Besides that their brushes are very good and this are my absolute favorite. Its best to buy the 3 in my opinion than 1. Their powder brush is also another one on my fav list, it is sooooo soft you will not want to put it down. Thanks for the post!
